Almost none of that is in the file. And almost none of it is systematically sought. This module is about the gap between the person you think you are seeing and the person who is actually there. It draws on cognitive psychology, narrative medicine and cultural humility to examine the perceptual filters that shape every professional encounter - and to give you the tools to see past them. Because the most important clinical and professional skill is not technical. It is the ability to see another human being clearly - past your assumptions, past their presentation, past the story you arrived with. That skill is learnable. And it changes everything.
